Two days and counting ...

Sunday 10th July Day -2

This past week seems to have consisted of my writing endless notes to self, trying to ensure that all that has to be put in place prior to our journey to Cornwall tomorrow, has been completed.

As well as ensuring the FTB TTT Team travelling to Lands End are fully briefed, those who are supporting us “back home”, through communications and sharing what we are looking to do through this endeavour, are absolutely critical. Dear reader, that includes you!

There may be only two of us riding our bikes from Lands End to John O’ Groats, but make no mistake, this is a mass participation event which we hope will catch the imagination of people across communities from Swindon to every town and village which lies within the Diocese of Bristol - and hopefully well beyond.

We are all acutely aware of how difficult the economic situation has become, and there are now many households and individuals who are concerned about their own finances. Supporting this endeavour by making a donation may well be difficult for them. We really do not want that position to prevent them belonging to this journey, for even if they do not feel they can contribute financially, they can spread the word, increase interest, and enable hundreds, if not thousands of others to engage, many of whom will have greater headroom in their financial resources that they can draw upon.

Whether you feel able to make donation or not, this blog space is for you to be a part of helping to lift the place of those who are most disadvantaged to the top of our thinking and caring. You may well count yourself as one of those who needs lifting up, and we are delighted to have you engaged in this venture. To finish for today, FTB TTT may be focusing on providing a Christmas gift which will make a difference in Swindon, but it might provide energy for those who wants to see something similar happen for the most disadvantaged in their own town or village.

To make a donation visit our Just Giving Page: From the Bottom to the Top on JustGiving

Please spread the word.

I am looking forward to hearing about your trip and really hope it goes smoothly. I am also intending to promote it in the Swindon Deanery, so it would be great to know a bit more about how the money you raise will be used. Will you be supporting one of Swindon's excellent charities which seek to help those in most need?
