The penultimate day

Today Bishop Lee and Chris Stanley will complete their ride from Land's End to John O'Groats, catch up on yesterday's adventure here:

Our penultimate day's ride was a wet one. In fact there was a yellow weather warning for the area, which meant we completed the set (last we week we gathered a red and an amber for heat).

Our first challenge was finding the cycle path for Inverness Bridge as the northbound path was closed from the city centre, so we had to loop round for the southbound path. It meant that we cycled past Inverness Caledonian Thistle's ground. It was windy on the bridge, then started raining so we stopped in a bus shelter to sort ourselves out. As the airbnb didn't have much breakfast we had an early lunch in Dingwall before heading for the hills and more rain.

We found a public toilet at Bonar Bridge that had an air drier and used this to dry out our clothes. If they wonder why their electricity usage shotup today..... With dry kit we climbed up again and rode through a peaceful beautiful stretch of single track rode to the A9, riding along the coast to Helmsdale.

This section today was 128km/80miles with 1069m of climbing. Once again it was the weather that was tiring rather than the cycling.
