Gratitude, Grace and Giving

Bishop Lee reflects ....

Being able to take the time to ride from Lands End to John O Groats is a great privilege.

Although, given the heat conditions and the physical stresses that such an undertaking requires, will cause some to see it as madness, I am only too conscious of how blessed Chris and I are to be in a position to do this.

Not only do we have the time, the health, and the resources to make this possible, we also have your interest and support.

First Francis, and now Simon, have given their time, energy and commitment to Chris and me which is humbling as well as essential for our ability to attempt FTBTTT.

Lesley and Janice, in my office have been brilliant in planning and support, and Mike Palmer, in planning both testing and safe routes.

We feel the warmth, concern, prayers and cheering onwards you are giving us and so grateful for the generosity you are demonstrating in this and in your financial support through the JustGiving site.

Imagine how it is going to feel this Christmas for those we are riding to support.

FTBTTT is not simply about providing a gift which will make a real difference to them materially. We hope it will be received as a recognition of their resilience and courage in the face of multiple challenges.

We want to tell stories which not only bring the most disadvantaged to the top of our concerns, but what we all can learn from their resourcefulness, generosity of spirit and strength.
