In life we often have to change direction to achieve our goals. On this ride for the first 3 days we've been travelling in a northeasterly, but continuing in this direction would mean that we wouldn't reach John O'Groats.
Instead we started riding north and the first section of day 4 was relatively flat as we travelled to Cheddar.
After a refreshment stop we cycled up the beautiful Cheddar Gorge. It was a hot climb and the sections in the shade were brief reliefs from the heat. At the top there was a welcoming breeze to cool us. From here we headed downhill taking us to the lovely Avon Valley railway and railway path which took us round the east side of Bristol.
At Pucklechurch we were met by Chris and James and went to James' house for a refreshing ice coffee. Then it was the final stretch taking us over the original Severn Bridge, into Wales and arriving in Chepstow.
